There’s been a shift in the way that American consumers prefer to do their business. Instead of turning to big box stores and corporately owned chains, more and more people are choosing to work with local brands that they know and trust. And as that trend continues to catch on in more communities across the country, brands with strong local connections will continue to grow.

One of those brands that’s benefiting from this change in the marketplace is Relocators. The Syosset, New York-based concept—which provides four distinct moving services—is an integral part of its local community. By building its concept on family values and strong relationships, Relocators is redefining what it means to provide top tier moving, clean-out, estate sale and storage services. And according to Robert Esposito, founder and president of Relocators, the brand’s attention to the personal side of moving stems from the fact that it’s stressful for consumers.

“Moving is one of the top three stressors in life next to death and divorce. And for a lot of our clients, moving happens because they’re dealing with one of those other experiences at the same time. That’s why the Relocators brand is built on trust and relationships—we’re here to help our customers get through a potentially challenging time in their life without adding any unnecessary stress to the process,” said Esposito. “It’s increasingly important for consumers to work with brands that they know and respect, and we plan to cater to that climbing demand.”

Esposito and his family understand the stress that comes with moving first-hand. After Esposito’s grandmother was diagnosed with breast cancer, his family had to empty out her long-time home in Queens, New York. While he was only 15 at the time, his mother—Denise—realized that the industry was lacking companies that offered a personal touch. That’s why she founded her own estate sale and clean-out company, Sisters in Charge, which today operates under the Relocators brand name.

Backed by the understanding that other families are going through similar experiences, Esposito strives to make Relocators a trustworthy part of the community that it serves. It’s also why Relocators actively supports and gives back to local charities and business organizations.

“As a business that’s connected to the local New York community, it’s our responsibility to support the people who continue to support the Relocators brand,” said Esposito. “Plus, the moving business is one that’s based on relationships and referrals. We want our franchisees to be able to capitalize on our strong reputation and level of brand awareness.”

Relocators isn’t planning to lose its local touch with the launch of its business ownership opportunity. In fact, the brand is proactively taking steps to ensure that its franchised locations are all establishing relationships with members of their communities. Relocators is planning to do this by encouraging and training its franchisees to market the brand face to face. Even as Relocators expands in key target markets along the East Coast like Westchester, Northern New Jersey, Staten Island and Florida, the concept is committed to ensuring that its franchisees play an active role in the community that they call home.

“Every family and every community has its own unique story. And at the end of the day, we’re here to provide every customer with the services that they need,” said Esposito. “That’s why we decided to expand through franchising over corporately owned locations. When you combine our proven system with local business owners who know their communities, the potential for growth is unlimited.”
